Buy everything you think can travel home safely! Much more fun to unpack than another pair of sandals.

I can completely relate! One of my favorite activities (while traveling & at home) is to slowly browse gourmet shops for unique goodies. London’s big department stores (Harrod’s, Harvey Nichols) also sell amazing packaged food. I bring lots of stuff home and stuff it on my “abroad” shelf in the pantry, to be used at just the right moment. It never tastes as good as on its home turf! My husband always travels with “wine diapers” which can absorb the volume of a 750mL bottle (if it breaks). Great invention!

TSA dictated (in 2006?) that my frozen goat cheese from Hawaii was a liquid. I argued and cajoled.

BASTARDS!

Don't let them take your goodies, follow the Stoopid rules and break them if u must by wrapping well. Enjoy!

This is criminal. I know someone who lost butter for the same reason. But goat cheese can't even really liquify....I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you for the lovely response! I’ve always been a little embarrassed to be the one apparently loading my luggage to the bursting point at the end of a trip - but from now on I’ll take pride and keep in mind the benefit to my friends and family back home! Everyone has a role when traveling. Others take pictures, I’ll collect flavors.
