A few months ago I replaced my dual fuel stove with an induction top stove. The only pan I had that wouldn’t work on it was my large canning pot. I gave it to Goodwill and have not replaced it. I have to say it’s been freeing.
We did the same thing!! But the only pot that doesn't work is my husband's home-brew beer boiling pot. He bought a double boiler and makes beer on the back deck now 🤣. I stopped canning veggies 20-something years ago and eat seasonal fresh only. Yes, it's totally freeing to see the banner leave the house!! (I gave it to my step daughter 😉)
Love the grocery store depression as litmus test…for me, nothing is sadder than a winter tomato. Do you have a favorite way to preserve tomatoes? (Or should I walk the 50 feet it would take to look this up in your book 😅)
Shrubs can be a nice way to use up bountiful in-season fruit! They aren’t shelf stable so they don’t keep as long as jam, but it’s still something to do with all the berries , That doesn’t involve slaving over a hot stove.

Outdoor brewing has to be a little nicer than steaming up the house anyway. 😊
